Holistic Healing for Wisdom Teeth: My Journey with Braces, Dental Insights, and Natural Remedies
Recently, I found myself back in the dentist's chair, not for a routine checkup, but because a filling had fallen out. As my dentist examined the area, he became concerned about one of my wisdom teeth. He shared his worry about the way it was coming in, highlighting the risks of bacteria buildup and the potential for losing not just one, but two teeth if we didn’t address it soon.
Now, here’s where things get interesting: I currently have braces, and my orthodontic treatment still has about six months left, give or take. I mentioned this to the dentist, expressing my intention to wait a little longer before making any decisions. My orthodontist plans to reposition my brackets soon, a common practice when teeth have shifted significantly but still require further adjustment.
We also discussed the wisdom tooth issue in depth, including how my orthodontist hadn’t recommended removing them, especially at my age. This is because the teeth are close to the main mandibular nerve, making extraction potentially more harmful than beneficial. I appreciated my dentist’s perspective, and he acknowledged that different specialists, including an oral surgeon experienced in wisdom tooth removal, might offer different opinions. With all this information, I felt equipped to make an informed decision. I even booked my teeth cleaning while I was there!
As a healer, receiving this “diagnosis” has given me valuable information. I don’t plan to ignore this issue or hope it resolves itself. Instead, I’m taking a proactive approach, combining both holistic healing and conventional medical advice. My ultimate goal is to avoid extraction and keep all my wisdom teeth healthy and happy, but I remain open to medical intervention if that proves to be the best course of action.
This approach is exactly what I do as a healer, and it’s why my clients seek me out and recommend me to others. They come to me to help them decode the language of their bodies. Every physical issue is not necessarily a bad one—often, it’s the body’s way of communicating deeper, unresolved issues. Alongside medical diagnoses and recommendations, I help my clients understand why their body is expressing something now and what the root cause is, so we can work together to heal it.
For example, my client Paige shared this about her experience:
"I can honestly say all of the work Jenn has guided me through has been more effective than countless years of therapy and healers. She not only gets to the bottom of core issues within minutes but she also effectively clears all blockages in the mental/spiritual/physical/emotional bodies. Every time I leave a session, I feel so much weight lifted from me. I honestly cannot imagine life without her—she is definitely going to be my healer for life. I am so grateful to have crossed paths with Jenn and would recommend her expertise to all—anyone who gets to work with Jenn is in for a real treat."
So, here’s the plan:
Step 1: Understanding the Tooth
The wisdom tooth in question is in my lower jaw, on the right side. According to holistic dental theory, this tooth is connected to the large and small intestines and has an emotional connection to energy and the wisdom of life.
Step 2: Holistic Approaches
The Physical:
My braces are still actively shifting my teeth, so I’ll continue with my orthodontic treatment as planned.
I’ll begin oil pulling with thyme and oregano essential oils, both known for their antimicrobial properties.
I’ll also muscle test to identify any imbalances in my digestive system that could be related to this tooth.
The Emotional:
I’ll use muscle testing to uncover any trapped emotions in my wisdom tooth and digestive system.
I’ll explore any key situations connected to this wisdom tooth and find their roots in my timeline to resolve them.
The Spiritual:
I’ll connect with the Creator to ask what this issue and wisdom tooth want me to know, learn, or do.
Step 3: Medical Insight
I’ll follow my dentist's recommendation to get a CT scan of the area, providing a 3D picture of the tooth. This will give me further clarity on what the best course of action might be.
Will I end up getting it extracted or not? I don’t know yet. But what I do know is that, regardless of the outcome, it will be for my highest and best. Through this healing process, I’ll reflect and contemplate on what this tooth has been trying to express to me. Whatever happens, I’ll embrace the journey, trusting that it will lead to quantum ripple effects far beyond just trying to keep the tooth.
So, stay tuned for part 2 of this journey—let’s see where this path of healing and insight takes us.
